What is the basic structure of a scientific paper?

Although all scientific journals have their own idiosyncratic requirements for article submissions, typically almost all of them will require the following sections in your article: title, running head, and title page, which includes the corresponding author’s complete contact information; all co-authors and their affiliations; an abstract with a specific word limit; introduction; methods; results; discussion; and references. In addition, you may be required to include other sections, e.g., conclusions, limitations, acknowledgments, conflicts of interest, appendices, tables, and figures, as the case may be.
